After reading the articles, I find that these two terms is pretty interesting, and too often it happens in my life. For my perspective, Online Activism is like the activities occur online, such as online donation, online voting, and online petition. In addition, I consider that online activism and digital leadership are coexisting together. There should be a leadership to hold an online event. Digital leadership is leading online activities to realize.

There is an example which occurs in our lives recently. Under the terrible situation of Covid-19 last year, as I know, there is a petition for students about taking classes online instead of showing up in the campus in Spring 2020. It totally requires 10000 agreements to turn this petition in. I remember that the initiator is an international students. I would say that he give us a chance to announce what we thought, and this is an example of both online activism and digital leadership.

Last year in Minnesota, well-known George Floyd’s death happened. This event cause an enormous linkage effect, and it finally becomes severe races and society’s issues. The phrase “Black Lives Matter” came up. Thousand of people joined the demonstration. Due to this case, I would like to say that digital leadership is super powerful, and online activism probably would cause another related activities in our real life.
